Hey guys I recently bought q norc m4 and I've already started to tinker with it. So I bought a blueline lower and installed a dpms parts kit, everything went fine with that, then I received my ace Socom stock and tried to install that. The problem I am having is with the hole that is on the back of the lower just below where the buffer tube screws in. The hole is circular, where the raised part of the ace Socom clamp is more oval than square. So I figured I needed a receiver end plate, ordered the spikes one from fabsports, and the raised part of that was still oval where the indent on the blueline lower is still more of a circle. Also I had to shave off the small tab that is in the 6 o clock position of the receiver end plate in order for the buffer tube of the ace Socom stock to fit in. Still can't get verything to line up nice. The instructions that came with the ace Socom are Garbage and I couldn't find anything better on the net.

Please help!

Also I know some people don't like the ace Socom, but I really do, so please just helpful directions and not negative comments on the ace stock.

Thanks

Double post this one over at AR15.com. I would help if I could, but I am not a builder...that is where I go if the guys around here can't help. They have some real gurus over there that know this rifle forwards and backwards.

Ok got it all together and everything seems ok, except, should there be that big a gap between the tension lock of the stock and the receiver end plate?

Throw the end plate into your spares pile. The ACE stock does not need one and will not work with one. The clamp (aka "gusset") goes directly up to the receiver, holding the takedown retainer pin spring (if thats the right term) in by itself.

If the nubbin on the gusset does not fit easily into the receiver, then either the receiver or the gusset is out of spec.

You could of course call ACE directly to ask questions.

Ok, so the nubbin on the gusset is a wide oval, where as the blueline lower has a more round indent. How do I figure out which part is out of spec? Can anyone show me pics of nubbin on their gusset? Or a pick of the end of their lower receiver?

Thanks for the help acrashb, now it's just a matter of figuring out which part needs replacing

Ok so then the nubbin on the gusset should be able to fit inside of that? It does not it is much wider than that hole in the end of the receiver. So I should contact ace and get a new one? Anywhere I can see a pic of the nubbin on the gusset?

ok thanks acrashb i got it working. the nubbin on the gusset was exactly .499, and the blueline lower was just a hair smaller at .497-.498, so i introduced the gusset to mr. rubber mallet and success! so thanks for all your help, problem solved
