Help with identifying 14-14.5mm cartridge

Hello,

I need some help in identifying this. It came from the effects of the recently deceased father of a friend of mine. It's next to a .50 BMG, fairly similar except for the belt. Any help would be appreciated with its caliber and country of origin.
