help with identifying this pistol???

i think it might be german??
i havent handled it myself but this picture was sent to me by someone who needs help in identifying it.

This is a German Mauser Model 1914 7.65mm that looks in fine condition. Holster could be of Police provenance. The spare mag is upside down in the pouch, bullets pointing down it should go...Do you have more info on the pistol ?

as far as i know it was taken home as a war souvenir.

Mauser 1910 in .25 ACP (6.35x16mm SR)

Mauser 1914 in .32 ACP (7.65×17mm Browning SR)

Prohibited 12.6, both for barrel length and for calibre.

I take it this is something that is not in your possession, and/or not in Canada, correct?

The Mauser in the photo looks to be in very nice condition, along with the holster. Its "prohibited" status in Canada limits the value, but it is a collectible. If it functions OK, it looks like it would be a nice addition to any collection of WWI vintage pistols. It would be interesting to know if it carries any unit (military or police) markings. The guns were used throughout WWII and are excellently designed "pocket" pistols (although built to be holster arms).

no it is not in my posession but it is in Canada.
this is one of those "war souvenirs" that has now been discovered by someone who is going through some of her Fathers posessions kind of thing.
not sure what will become of it at this point.
