About (what seems like) a million years ago, my uncle gave me a BB gun for my 8th birthday. He, my father, and my grandfather then taught me to shoot.
It was a Ducks Unlimited edition Powerline 760
This was catylyst to a life long obsession with guns and hunting...
At some point, I remember that the gun quit working, the bolt wouldn't close. We couldn't find anyone that worked on these things to fix it, and so it was shelved for the next 25-odd years.
I recently picked it up again to decide whether or not to finally throw it out, and thought I'd take a look at to see if it can be fixed again.
As it turns out, all that was wrong all these years, was that there was a deformed BB stuck in the "chamber", that wouldn't allow the bolt to close. One stroke of a cleaning rod, and out it came.
I cycled the bolt and pulled the trigger, and with I guess to be 25 year old air, it shot the new BB out.
HERE'S MY PROBLEM; when I tried to pump it up again, every stroke just results in air coming out the muzzle like a bicycle pump. Perhaps the seals/o-rings are dried out?
Can this be repaired? Is it self servicable if it can be? Does anyone work on these things?
I know it will undoubtedly cost way more than it's actual monetary value to repair, if possible, but the sentimental value is enormous to me.
Any help would be appreciated more than you can imagine.
