Help with my flash hider, please.

The flash hider keeps coming off of my Mini 14. It's just a slip on type that goes over the barrel and is not (from what I can see at least) secured via anything other than friction against the barrel.

The front sight does have a nut or something holding it on. The flash hider has a slot on it that goes over the front sight.

Any ideas?

Loctite 609, the thick, light green stuff. Fills gaps up to .015'' if I remember correctly. I use it all the time at work for worn bearing diameters. Couple drops should do the trick for a long time. Only thing is that if you want it to come off its going to take some effort( punch and big hammer, aka millwright style)

Is the front sight not held on with a pin? my old mini had the flashhider held on with a rollpin. It looks like there is a hole in the top of your hider. If your sight does have a pin through it you could remove it and get a longer one that would go through both the hider and the sight. Keep in mind this is a this is only a speculative reply.

Just like farls said drift out the pin replace with a longer one
