Hey everyone just a quick question for ya, I just bought a norinco m305 shorty and was planning on using Winchester .308 150gr for it. I know all the hype about 7.62mmx 51 I just want some advice on different ammo instead of buying the "7.62" stuff since it should all be the same anyways in measurement. As long as it doesn't blow up in my face any ideas would be great.

I would have a go at canadammo and pick yourself up a nice 1000 round crate of 7.62 its a lot cheaper in the long run then buying 20 round boxes of winchester .308 at a time at about 15 bucks a box. I am about half way through my crate and I couldnt be happier havent had to buy ammo to feed the m14 in months, I have had NO issues what so ever with the norc ammo it runs like a champ and as of recently I'm getting about 2-3 MOA at 100 yards with the iron sight. I would consider going this route you wont be disappointed.

If you're just plinking and don't want to buy in bulk I would buy some Barnaul .308 or some Tula .308

When I got mine I picked up 200 rounds of Federal 150gr blue box. It works just fine, and was a lot more accurate than most of the 7.62mm I could ever find for it.

If you find bulk ammo at a decent price, buy as much as you can. Stockpiling ammo is as much a hobby as shooting it.
