I picked up a beat old Topper 58 20 ga for my step-son on a trade, since money was a bit tight. The gun was badly bubba'd it had a bent and filed penny silver soldered to the barrel as a rear sight, and a mechano wrench soldered on to fix the broken hammer. It shot ok but the homemade hammer extension was a bit unsafe in my opinion (very tricky to let the hammer down slowly). The trigger guard was also broken. So we set about to restore it, partly to show him the value of doing things yourself and the pride that can come from restoring something that might other wise be junked. And partly because I can't afford to buy him a new gun. I called western gun parts and checked my local shop but can't find the hammer or trigger guard, I as surprised western couldn't help. If anyone has these parts or knows where I would find them I'd really appreciate the help and so would my new hunting buddy, he's 13 and loves the outdoors. I can't afford to spend a fortune on this gun but I'd sure love to fix it for him.

bubba really out did himself, you can see the penny and the mechano wrench

You should check out Graybeard Outdoors. There are a lot of H&R and NEF owners over there. Chances are they will know exactly where to get the parts, or one of them may have what you need kicking around. Graybeardoutdoors.com

Check with Brownell's or Numrich Gun Parts out of the States. You can also try GunBroker.com. There are people on there who tear down old guns and sell the parts. You might get lucky.
