help with Ontario small game hunting regulations ?

Im from Alberta. I will be in Ontario for a week and want to take my nephew hunting. I will be there from the 30 = 8th . What about rabbits? whats there season like ?

If you could narrow it down a bit it may help...Ont is pretty big.

Season will be open...but populations vary considerably depending on location.

You will need a Non-Resident Temporary Outdoors Card($9.00) and a non-resident small game hunting licence($99.25) to start. Some municipalities require a township licence too.
This, as well. May not apply to you, of course.
"NON-RESIDENTS NOTE: A non-resident’s small game licence is not valid for hunting rabbits in the county of Lambton, the Municipality of Chatham / Kent or the county of Essex, except in the Township of Pelee."

No he can not. In Ontario, you must have the hunters safety course in order to get a hunting license. The minimum age is 12 I believe.

They changed the law IIRC. Or atleast proposed a change.

Do you have a place to hunt them? Shoot me a PM if you need a place to go. Its hardly rabbit haven but they're there.


EDIT: Seems like it is a proposed change ONLY. .22LR or shotgun w/ small shot is allowed.
