I have berrys 200gr hp .45 and 9mm 124 gr hp what powder load should i use for each with alliant bullseye? the alliant web site say 5.8 gr for the .45 but all the things ive searched say way lower? and when reloading how much does .01 +-.02 of a grain matters? any help would be great?

Looking in my Speer #14 manual I see 200gr .45 ACP TMJ and GDHP bullets loaded at 1.20" OAL with Bullseye starting at 5.2gr to 5.8gr max
Same book 9mm Luger 124gr TMJ RN 1.135" OAL GDHP 1.120" OAL Bullseye 3.9gr start - 4.4gr max

You said .01gr (hundreth,too small, doesnt matter) but I think you mean .1gr which is a tenth of a grain. It does matter but if your are consistently loading within +/- 0.1gr that's fine but that along with OAL makes more of a difference in small pistol cases. If you're at the lower end of safe loads it would not worry me. At max loads I would be a little bit more careful.
 
in order for my .45 to pass the drop test in the barrel my oal is 1.97 will that .03 be critical?
 
I am not aware of any .45 ACP load that is 1.97" in length 1.27" is about the longest you see. and 1.20-1.25" is typical. Did you make a typo?
 
I am still confused about your measurement. You are loading .45 ACP (auto) right?

I just haven't seen any 1.975" over all lengths for this calibre especially with 200gr bullets. That is almost 2 inches. Most 230gr bullets are loaded at 1.25" (1 and a 1/4 inch) much shorter than the measurement you have given.
 
Thats sounds ok. I would have probably chose 1.20" but if they are starting loads a few thousandths shorter I would fire them in my gun.
 
shot first rounds at the range yesterday 5 gr bullseye +-.1gr oal 1.197 and berrys 200gr hp .45 and worked awesome really accurate
