Help with Rem 722 bottom metal

Hi guys

I have a Rem 722 in .222
It is all original so it is a fixed floor plate. Lol
I would like either a detachable mag or even a drop floor plate.
So my question is will Rem700 short action metal fit ?

What do I need to know to to make this all come together ? ...lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Rocky:
I adapted a long action 700 stock for a Rem 721. It may be possible to use an intermediate action stock for the 722. I believe it utilizes a spacer in the mag well for the shorter cartridge.

You may be able to install a Kwik Klip short action conversion kit.
