Help with S&W 41

Double post as some of you may not be reading the gunsmithing forum.



I have been having problems with my S&W 41 - every week after I shoot our club match, its taken apart and cleaned. For the first 20 or 30 rounds, no issues, and then it starts to misbehave. One round will not completely eject, and the empty brass turns sideways. Results in a jam with one bullet half way in the chamber and the empty brass lodged sideways on top of the round trying to go into the chamber.

Some ammo is worse than others, only Eley seems to work relatively consisitantly, but it occaionaly does it as well.

I have been shooting this pistol for 5 years, but this is the first time I have had this start to happen. No issue on slowfire rounds, but really buggers up the time fire and rapid fire events.

Any ideas guys??

Also - anyone know who makes a trigger spring kit for these pistols?? Wolff does not as far as I can find in the Midaway catalog.

I'm not that familiar with the Model 41 but it sounds like your extractor needs replacing (not enough tension). Not sure why it takes 20 or 30 rounds to fail but it could be lead building up in the chamber that is makeing the spent case tighter and more difficult to extract...
