Hi all! I was hoping someone would know, or point me in the right direction, what the markings are on my S&W .455 hand ejector represent. On the left side I have a crown marking with what looks like " U 6 E" and another marking beside that one with a crown with "V 5 F" below it.

I tried researching them on the net, but had no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Interesting. I have one in .455 which was carried by a Canadian Captain who was loaned to the British forces on the "Canloan" program during the 2nd WW. It doesn't have any Canadian ownership marks and no regimental markings like the long guns would have. Mine is in the serial number range which were purchased by Canada for WW1. Hope this helps. Dave

Only Hand Ejector I ever saw with unit markings was engraved on the backstrap to 32 Sq'n RFC and brought back to Canada by the pilot.

I know that the Royal Navy stamped its Mark VI Webleys with the standard "N", same as their rifles, and added painted markings to the bottom of the butts: "Q 17" is an example.
