Hey i just bought my first precision rifle. A savage model 12FV .223 rem. I really like it but i desperatly want to replace the stock. Everything on the internet seems to be sold for the model 10 or a Stevens. Will these fit a model 12? im just looking for some info. BTW does anyone know of a company that makes decent quality stocks for the model 12 for under $250?

The model 12 is a 10 action. The 110 is long action and 10 is short. For under 250 your options are either a laminate boyds or richards stock. Bell and Carlson makes stocks for Savage Actions and HS but they are probably over the 250 mark.

Tom1133 - I was in the same spot back in September. I looked around and wanted a Bell & Carlson Tactical stock and priced it out. Cheapest I found that ships to Canada (and this was a recommendation from B&C themselves) was Jim Nassett @ Rifle-accuracy. I wasn't looking to spend a bunch of money on a stock also and this was an amazing price compared to others out there.

Look at stock #2999

#2999 Savage Model 10, Heavy Barrel, with or without Accu-Trigger, Short Action Only (Model 10,11,12,16,ect..)

I paid exactly $249.95 for the stock with shipping from Rifle-accuracy and it arrived in 3 weeks exactly. I was quoted almost 380.00 buying the same stock from gun shop up here in Canada.

I got the stock, everything fit in great and I honestly love it.

PM me if you have any questions you'd like answered

Here is a thread I created about my rifle's progress with the new stock pictures:
