Just bought a 17 from a fellow Nutter, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Bushnell Banner 17 HMR Doa. I know the Banner isnt a high quality scope by any means but I Was thinking about trying it out, just wondering how they are working out. Thanks!!

I have one with the extra dials for the bullet drop compensator (BDC) function. Not sure if this is exactly the same as yours, but I expect the optics would be.

I used it for about a year on a .22. Worked just fine. The optics are plenty good enough for a small bore rifle. I found the eye relief a little short and am currently using a different scope on that rifle, but I'll probably mount the Banner again on something else one of these days.

On the whole I've found Bushnell scopes to be good value in the low to mid priced range.

Most of my .22s have a Bushnell scope of one style or another, all bought off EEs. Most are 3x9x x 40. Long distance shooters have Tasco 6x24x x50s. Depending on the type of shooting you intend to do, regulates the power. I never found it necessary to put a $300-400 scope on a .22 to shoot gophers. the $100 scopes put them under just fine. I do not punch paper, except to sight in, as I never found it as much fun. Also have never had to send one back for repair, nor had a failure to retain center.
