The wife passed her restricted test today and I would like to surprise her. She already has a Ruger GP100, GSG 1911, and Smith and wesson m&p 22. She would like a 9mm and I think thats the next obvious choice. I was wondering what are my best option of slim gripped 9mm semi's in Canada? Are there any single stack 9mm that aren't a 1911? She also would like a full size slide, she doesn't like when the Canadian barrels stick out. Were going to a gun show this weekend then off to Edmonton for a visit and plan on hitting the gun shops there. We will try to see as many as possible but what are some I should look for? or if we don't find anything she likes what should I be looking for online?

Thanks

Jason

M&P 22 is basically a M&P 9. Show her an MP 9 pro. It has the 5" barrel for a touch more recoil control and better sight picture. Unlike the MP22 she can swap backstraps on the real MP's to find one that suits her best.

CZ 75 with thin grips is a good option.

Let her decide what she wants.

Thats the plan I wanted to show her the options online if we can't find something she's happy with in person. Gonna try to find a Beretta PX4 storm for her to feel as she really likes that one.

Yeah I mentioned that but she would like something "different" She didn't like the "small slide" I have a CZ.

thanks.

Best thing is let her wrap her mitts around them...only way to make sure she likes the feel.

Thats the plan but not always possible we don't have much local. Hoping she can find some in Edmonton when were there. Sometimes online is your only choice

I have a CZ 75 ShadowLine. It came with the thin aluminum grips, and fits my hands perfectly. I have smaller hands, and it was the first that just felt "right". When shopping with a friend, we looked at a HK P30L. It also was comfortable, and the mag & slide release were great for those with smaller hands. It's currently at the top of the my list to buy.

But as someone else said, the best thing to do is to take her to a few stores, and let her hold as many as she can.

i have the SR9 and its definitely a small framed gun, i thought my wife would love it because of that but she dosnt care for it much.
she likes the glock, im guessing because of the weight.

but ya, if she likes the M&P22 then get her to try out the 9mm one, i have them both and they are identical except for weight.

Well, the small backstrap on the M&P9 makes it feel significantly smaller than the M&P22. I'd suggest she at least try it.

But the OP said his wife wants to try something different.

Single stack 9... What's the budget? How about a Sig 210? Or a Boberg XR9-L?
