help with turrets

i got a new zeiss scope at the last gun show in trade. Ive mounted it on a 20moa base , and the elevation turret is as close as one could ask to the bottom of its rotations, but as the rest of my zeiss scopes if i turn it to the H, clockwise it should go up, raise my zero , but it go's down, leaving me very little adjustment. am i crazy or is the scope turret in backwards.

i have been sick for a week and maybe not the best time to play with guns.

Did you actually shoot to verify this or did you just view the reticle movement on a distant target without shooting? Don't forget, in order for your bullet to strike higher on target(UP), the reticle actually moves DOWN. If you're sighted in at 100yds and want to now adjust your scope for 300yds the ret. moves DOWN so you have to RAISE the muzzle of your rifle.
