I desperately need a stock and spring tube ( the tube that screws in the rear of the action to hold the spring that operates against the bolt) for my Browning Silver Hunter 20g. It got damaged as the result of an ATV accident last Sept and Grouse season is nearly here again. HELP.!!!

There are three things that I'd suggest:

I'd start by contacting Browning's Canadian distributor directly without going through a dealer. If that didn't show faster results I'd be taking the case directly to Browning in Missouri.

I might also contact Western Gun Parts to see if they had the required parts in stock. It's a long shot but worth a try.

Finally, I'd buy another gun exactly like the one that's out of action. Shoot it for the season and then sell it when the replacement parts finally came in. Not a very appealing option I admit but it's better than missing an entire season because of the length of time it takes to get parts to Canada.

The moral to the story is ALWAYS have a back-up gun. ;)

Claybuster, thanks for your suggestions but the last one is not really applicable. I have numerous other shotguns but it is b----y annoying when I can,t use my favourite because of a `lack of spares` situation. I will try Browning in Montreal and proceed from there.

I feel your pain. I spent a season without a favourite gun while it was away at a smith's.

Let us know how you make out with Browning. Don't hesitate to rattle Browning's cage in the U.S. too if you aren't getting a prompt response. Browning U.S.A. has the Canadian distributor on its website so they are connected.
