helpin a friend find a AR - 10.5"

a buddy is looking for a cheap ar. its going to be his first one.
optics are taken care of so no worries there.

what is the best cheap rifle out there or who has the best price on stripped or complete lowers?
leaning towards a 10.5 or 12.5" barrel and hes going to want a quadrail.

amazing...wait... i already have 2....LoL
ya so basically he shot my 2 NEA's and wants one, but the problem lies within that link... they are all plagued with the SOLD OUT logo next to it.
i told him to wait and grab a FDE one with the new rail when they are released but who knows when that will be...

and the norc is a no go... has to have a quadrail.

any other options out there?

not really...
norc is what.. $700 and a rail is about $250. add $15 shipping to each item (at best) and you are just shy of a grand.. and yet, you will still have just a norc...

not that a norc is bad, ive shot many that work just fine... just not interested in made in china for this .
 
I guess it depends on what you find in stock right now. Just saying, if you can only find a Norc, I wouldn't rule it out just because of the quadrail. But ya, if you can find another AR around the 1K mark that already has one, that would be great.

Have you tried contacting NEA directly btw?

i was under the impression that NEA was not licensed to sell directly to general public in canada, or they wont..one of the 2.
if this s wrong, ill fire Jeff a email and see what he can hook me up with.
 
Hmm not sure. I know they have firearms listed on the site. Either way, maybe they can tell you if any dealers will be getting stock.

ive delt directly with NEA in the past when i needed parts. they are great but they wouldnt tell me anything on who is getting what and when.

i checked their site again, doesnt look like you can buy the rifles from them, just parts.

Not sure why you'd write off a Norc over NEA - personally, aside from the whole china thing, I'd take a Norc track record over the NEA anyday. Just my 0.02 though.
Plus if its a 10.5 "cheap" ar that your friend wants.. the Norc is perfect.
Check out the one on the EE - it was either never shot, or very very low round count.

Frontier has the Norcs with quad rails for 799 as well- I think they are getting some in soon, or may already have them. send them an email.
 
For that price you want a NEA. Talk to the guys at the ammo source (one of the sponsors above) they will put you on a wait list and as soon as the new stuff comes in they will give your friend a call and ship it out to you.

if the NEAs were in stock it would be ordered right now.
i would write off a norc over a NEA because i have 2 NEA's and not a single problem. one is pushing 2500 rounds the other is a newer build and is hovering around 1000 rounds not i think.

hoping that Ryan chimes in.....
would rather set my buddy up with the latest version, the new quadrail looks great.... i want one.
