Well I just bought a bnib Henry Lever from WSS yesterday and took her to the range today. What a smooth and accurate litttle number.
The wood is quite nice looking and the octagonal barrel makes it very appealing. It has nice sorta heft for a .22 which points nice. I looked at the less expensive model and did'nt like the plastic front sight or barrel band at all but I did like its carbine characteristics. I was'nt too crazy about the Brasslite finish one either.
All in all I am very happy with this purchase and can't wait to bunny blast with it. I read too that Henry has very good customer service.:D:D

they are very nice. i think for the price difference between the other makers' levers, its pretty hard to beat the henry. i have the octagonal pump, and i would like to get the lever to match. my son has the youth lever, and its a hoot.

other than ordering a catalog from henry, i can't say about their service, although it came with a "personal" letter from the president.

Hey Deadman, have you ever had any problems with the pump? I'd like to pick one up some day, just want to know if there as good as the levers?

Thanks

Ti

not quite as effortless as working the lever, might be because they used a modified version of the same action, instead of developing one that was pump-specific. definitely no problems though. shoots great, solid gun so far.

I have a round barrel pump action as well as a Golden Boy lever. The pump is not as smooth as the lever. I found early on that it requires a bit of force to cycle properly. Not like a shotgun, but it's no where like the lever. Still, a great gun to shoot, accurate, and there's just something I like about the "shck-shck" between shots  .

(E)

They're pretty sweet aren't they Huntsman? I couldn't be happier with my little H001 Henry lever. I did a lot of "intranets" research before I bought mine this summer, and the only negative comments I could find about them were occasional gripes about the plastic sight.
They go bang everytime, they cycle smooooth, they are furnished in walnut and are repeatedly accurate to boot!
As a side note anyone who has read a few of the last threads on Henrys should be aware that you can purchase a replacement metal front sight-barrel band assembly directly from Henry for about 15$ canadian.

I did a bit of research to help make up my mind :confused:, Marlin, Winchester (ya right ), Browning(was a close one) and Henry.
I watched Youtube vid after vid and finally dropped $430 bones on the counter :dancingbanana:
Smooth

Awhile ago I was doing some on the Henrys; was looking for something "nostalgic" to plink with. Sent an e-mail to the factory, went to work and forgot about it. Came home that afternoon and had a reply, from the president himself. Since then have sent a couple other e-mails and ALL have been answered by the president and in a timley fashion.
I think that says alot about the company!!:)

this is good news. very new to the the sport, first gun bought a couple of months ago sw m&p 40 and now ofcourse i wanted a rifle to plink with inbetween paychecks (dam price of 40 cal ammo) walked into local gunsmiths just yesterday and loved the look and feel of the lever henry. well, like a lamb to the slaughter... i caved and slapped the money down. looks like the guilt of the impulse buy might go away :)

I see! I just wish Henry still made the pump with the round barrel because if I were to buy one, I'd want to to use it for a throw around plinking gun and not something I'd have to worry messing up. (like that darn nice octagon barrel.;))
