Just received my new Henry lever 22LR and so far I am amazed at the quality of this 350 $ rifle . Only thing is when i mount my scope I barely even have a chin weld . Wondering what size rings/mounts any of you guys that own one have used . Thinking if I do go lower though I won't be able to get at the hammer .. maybe I should just use the irons .

I put an old 3-9X40 Bushnell Sharpshooter on my Pump model - used Medium height 1" dovetail rings (mounted right on the dovetail of course) - not difficult to find - about 20 bucks and made by a number of companies.

And yes, that obstructed the hammer so I got a Uncle Mike's hammer extension (same one fits the Mod 94 Win's, so popular/on the shelf item at the guns stores).

When I got my Henry it came with the scope rail and hammer spur. I just naturally figured they went together! Mind you I got it on the EE , not new in a store, so maybe the original owner knew what they were doing. Anyways, yes the hammer spur makes a huge difference in usability.

Yep. Med height rings, and hammer spur, same one quoted above.
