I've come across a brand new one of these for a really decent price. I haven't picked it up yet because I don't know much about them. What says the CGN collective on this one? Are they a decent gun for the money? Are they reliable? Accurate? I appreciate any insight you guys can give me on the matter. Thanks.

At 250-300 they are great at what they do. Sturdy, compact, fun and reasonably accurate. Mine cycled subsonic and high velocity ammo without a hiccup.

It’s an awkward stock, but very shootable. .

That's good to hear. The one I have a line on is priced right in that bracket so I'm very tempted.

I agree they are decent value for that price range. Not crazy about the seal of the stock cap and how it hardens up when it is cold out but it is a nice rifle and the new ones with storage for 3 mags and the integral pic rail is great.

Personally I kept mine for a spare and moved to a stainless papoose but it boils down to preference.

There are two versions of the Henry. The old is black inside the stock the new one is orange. I have one of the new ones and have just over 4500 rounds through it with about a 5% failure rate. That's all FTE, FTF and misfires combined. That number is a little higher than it should be because it includes trying to fire all the .22 ammo I find on the ground at the range and some slightly damaged cartridges. They need to be broken in a bit at first.

The Henry is buoyant but will sink after a period of time. I find it is most reliable with copper plated ammunition that is 1200 fps or faster. I have used ammo up to 1800 fps but mostly I use CCI Mini Mags both the 36 gr and 40 gr.

I get about 1 to 1.5 inch groups at 25m with the peep sight but my eyes are starting to wear out. I can hit an 8" pie plate with a 3" black dot offhand out to 70m with 40% of the rounds in the black dot at 70m. There is a POI shift when I get the barrel hot by dumping rounds through it like 8 mags as fast as I can. The front sight is driftable for windage and the rear sight is adjustable for elevation. Putting optics on it improves the accuracy but then it can't be stowed. It has a 3/8" dovetail and Henry makes a Picatinney rail that slides on and is secured with set screws. The trigger pull is stiff but does smooth out a bit over time.

Spare magazines are a bit expensive but you can order directly from Henry and they ship to Canada now.

Overall I am happy with mine and I actually shoot it more than my other .22s.

This is great info. Thank you. I plan on using Mini-Mags almost exclusively in this thing if I pick it up. I'm still a little on the fence about it. I'll go check it out tomorrow and if it's still on sale it might follow me home if I like the feel of it in my hands.

I like mine. I had an original ar7 and traded it. Replaced with the henry. The buttstock is wide but the gun cycles great. I use cci mini mags or stingers. Its not overly accurate with stingers but really what is. The mini mags will keep pop cans dancing as far as my eyes will pick up. The front blade is kinda wide. Its good enough for starlings and grackles though. Overall i like it. It does not float for long

my $0.02 ; I don't like them.
Have tried/owned two different ones, both the older one with solid metal barrel.
Both were not very accurate and I find the grip too bulky.
They cycled fine with cci mini mags.
