Hi all,

Just kitting out my new Henry BB carbine 357

Finally found a Henry Pic rail and installed it

It’s short about 5” I think

I’m mounting a Crossfire a red dot on it and would like to know what the opinions are as to what position to mount it on the rail would be. I don’t intend on adding a magnifier.

Should I bring it towards the stock end, more towards the barrel end? Somewhere in the middle? Does it matter? Is it personal eye thing? It’s seems to look through the same to me no matter where it goes, but that’s in the house

Thanks

Put it wherever comfortable. Eye relief isn’t an issue with red dots as it can be with other optic types. Further forward may help with quicker target acquisition, further back may be more comfortable if you’re used to using a standard scope setup. Although on a 5” rail it isn’t going to make too much difference 👍
