Henry Homesteader

I have the same issue with the action bar, I was thinking of lightly filing down the action bar to fix the problem.
The only thing that is holding me back is I wonder whether those action bar are heat treated ? Filing down a heat treated part is probably NOT a good idea.
Put some grease on them when you put it back together, they come out easily next time.
Don't file anything lol

Just squit some lube in and shoot the hell out of it.

I just received my new Homesteader and 3 things I noticed:

1. With a full Magpul PMAG, the magazine is difficult to seat on a closed bolt and requires extra upward pressure to achieve positive engagement.
2. The action bars on mine were extremely tight. I had to use a punch and a non - marring hammer to remove them.
3. the rear peep sight has a lot of play.

It otherwise looks like a solid rifle. Looking forward to shooting it!

I don't know about PMAGS ..I have 2 Glock 19x pistols and 45 mags for them. They work ACE in the Homesteader. The older beat up mags won't lock back though.

Was at the range shooting my Homesteader yesterday when the gun suddenly stopped cycling. The action was binding and gritty. I took it home and disassembled it, to discover that the right action bar had snapped near where it connected to the bolt. Anyone know where I can get a replacement for this? AFAIK Grech Outdoor is no longer in business in Ontario. Wondering if this is a design flaw in the gun, or I just happened to get a bit of a lemon? Put over 500 rounds through it so far with no problems.

I had an issue with the factory rear sight on mine. You can call the number on their websight and they will take care of you. In my case they sent me an XS sight that correctly fits on the receiver, a much better sight than that crappy one they come with now with the tiny set screws. I was impressed with their effort and response…
