The buckhorn sights are okay, but I fired about 30 rounds and hit a plastic jug maybe 10 times.. Worst part is.. The jug was about 75 feet away, I had my glasses on, and it wasn't windy...
Anyone done a swap out, with pictures?

The new sight simply installed in the rear sight's dovetail, but, I had to install a new taller front sight. Some rifles, I gather, can still use the factory front bead. The Skinner web site is well worth a read plus Andy was very helpful with my project. I wanted both front and rear sights to be stainless so the front was a special order. The reason that I went with the barrel mount was to keep the aperture further from my tired eyes. I guess that I should add that at the range today I was able to regularly hit golf balls at 25 yds and tennis balls at 50 yds. once I found which ammo was most consistent. Elly sport was best but also the most expensive with Winchester Xpert coming in second but being far easier on my wallet ($19.95 at my local Walmart). Federal was third with American Eagle being a very distant fourth. After I put my scope on, golf balls then became doable at 50 yds. and tennis balls at 75 yds. I hope that this helps.

I had the same problem the first time i took it out, my friend too. Somehow I got way better the second time out, from the first shot. Put a scope on now anyway though.
