I have a Henry model H001 lever rifle. I mounted a cheapy Bushnell scope that came off of my Savage centerfire rifle. I bought a set of standard 22 rings and mounted it to the dovetail on the top of the receiver. I tried to zero at 50 meters and ran out of elevation 6 inches below POI. So I called Henry and they recommended a Burris ring to use instead. I looked up the specs on the rings and they are the same dimensions of the ones I'm using now. Anybody else have this problem? I'm starting to wonder if the receiver mount is tapered and useless on this rifle. Any suggestion? The rings they recommended where not Zee rings with the shim kit.

No other thoughts. The only way I can see fixing this is either a cantilever mount on the barrel or Burris Zee rings with a shim kit. Is there no one one the forum with a scoped Henry lever that can share their setup?

I have an H001 that I have put several different scopes on...without the problems you're experiencing. I mount both a Leupold m8 and an FX-II four power with cheap chinese .22 rings and have never run out of elevation. Maybe post us a pic.
Wish I could be of more help

Thanks guys, after seeing your setups I decided to recheck the rings and sure enough the one ring is about 0.060" longer than the other and the tall was on the front. No wonder I was having problems!

I have a bin full of many scope rings and while digging for a set I got mismatched and went through the same thing you're describing!. Needless to say I "twist-tie" together each matched set now before they get thrown in the bin so as not to mix'em up. :p
Glad you got your problem solved.
