Henry lever

Hi I'm wondering how to remove the rear sight on a Henry lever 22 with octagon barrel. Can't seem to get it to pop off

It's just a dovetail. An apparently tight dovetail in your situation.

You want to clamp the barrel in a vise using FIRM padding to protect the finish. Then use a big brass punch and hammer.

A good padding for the vise jaws is a single layer of thick cereal box card stock or two layers of file folder material.

Drift it left to right (muzzle end away from you) and install right to left.
