henry repeating company new gun

Original? Just because it is US made, and the company is using the Henry name doesn't make it an original.
There is an original in the EE @ 32.5k.

Fair point. I suppose not much is 'original' these days. A little slow sometimes, I was a little bummed to read the current Triumph Motorcycles are made likely anywhere else other than GB.

My point is that for collector's value, the Henry, wherever made, is still a name that will likely hold it's value over that of a manufacturer known for knocking out replicas.

Not a rock-solid source, but this site claims they 'were far too expensive ($45 to $65 each) to be issued in large numbers during the Civil War':

Interesting looking site. Ideal for the gun nut/movie buff.

Thanks for that! So converted to 21st century $ those would sell for ~$900-1300. Given the current market demand for firearms $2300 is on the high side but could moderate downward depending on supply and demand.
