I am looking for a good .22 rifle, I know henry arms. have alot of those but someone told me they are extremely low quality true or false?

Cannot comment on inner metal quality, but I have a Henry Golden Boy, and it is the smoothest lever action I have, and you hit what you aim at. This finish is great; I love it, no problems to date.

i received a h001 last week, the steel look good, the wood is beautiful, is the smother level action I never use on my live, the only bad think is the front sight on all model with round barrel is a plastic barrel band with a plastic ramp and a plastic plain rectangular post, if you use this for shooting some pepsi can at close range (50 yards) is't ok but dont try to shoot a chipmunk at 25 yards the sight is to big, if you dont like plastic Henry can ship to you a steel sight for 10 $ US but is exactly the same size of the plastic one except it hae a white dot on it. If you will put a scope on it the sight will be not a matter. Me I start to make some modification on mine, I put a williams receiver peep sight at the back and i wait for a steel front ramp from browsnell I will use to put a lyman target globe sight at the front.

For 250$ is a real good buy for a 22lr level action.

ffff

I bought my son one of these two years ago, its the nicest .22 lever Ive ever owned, smooth and looks awesome, I emailed the president of Henry and #####ed about the plastic barrel band and front sight, he promptly sent me one of each in metal for no charge, its an accurate gun that is of much better qualuity than you would think for the money. My son is an absolute deadly shot with his and he loves it, but so do i, I sold my two winchester lever.22's and Im buying another henry

From what I understand they have various levels of quality. With Henry the price will give you an indication of the quality. They have a line up of products afordable not great on quality and the more expensive better quality product.

I had an H001 (22) that was the bigest mistake of my life. Cheap Cheap Cheap plastic everywhere and clearly not a long lasting weapon. Having said that I have a friend who has one in a 45 colt he loves his and to be honost one very nicely finished rifle I loved the way it looked. However, I stoped looking at looks after having been through a couplr of bad experiences out hunting. Now I demand quality based on operation in our cold climate and not in southern USA where it is sunny and hot year round.

After my disaster with the Choice of Henry I bought Russian. No complaints yet. Ok some modles are not that well finished but quality in terms of accuracy and handling you can not top them. At least you know they will work in this harsh weather of ours everytime you take them out.

I'd go for a Winchester 94/22 or a Browing if you're looking for something in a Lever Action, rather than the Henry. The current Henry's use a lot of plastic parts...if you check out the used racks you might come across an ERMA EG-712 "Wagonmaster" or Iver Johnson "Wagonmaster" or Ithaca M72, these are all earlier carnations of the current Henry H001 and all were made in Germany by ERMA. They used all steel in their construction and are tough, dependable and accurate rifles. They're basically scaled down copies of the Winchester Model 94. Henry purchased the rights to build the rifle after Iver Johnson-AMAC went bankrupt in the late 90s. However, if you want a genuine Winchester, you better act fast, as Winchester, in a truly dumb move, has decided to drop the Model 94/22 from its catalog after this year!!!

File a little "V" notch in the top of the front sight as viewed from the rear and hold your target in the bottom of the "V".
