Henry single shot .44, anyone have one? What are your thoughts?

How the handling? Are you sticking with irons?

Last I checked, you're allowed to mention non-sponsors by name - Just no hotlinking to them.

Yeah, I wish they made them lighter. But balance is more important than overall weight.

I've always had pretty good service from Bashaw (phone or email).

Glad it worked out for you, enjoy!

I have one in 357. Mine came with great looking lumber also. Yeah it’s a bit heavy, very nice trigger. Not a huge fan of the sights. A peep would really help it. I haven’t put enough rounds through it or much variety to really speak to accuracy but I did notice it seems to be more accurate with hotter rounds (357 vs 38) all else being equal.

I have a Henry Single Shot, but not in 44mag, in 243win.

Trigger sucked. Did the recall, much better now. Its heavy but I bought it for my kids to learn with so that is not a bad thing for me.

Original stock wasn't ugly, but the youth stock Henry sent me (for free no less!) is even nicer!

I'm not sure I would buy one at the prices they're selling for these days, but I'm happy I got one when they were still sub-$500.

Handled one at the Kamloops gun show earlier this year. It almost came home with me. I really liked how it felt in my hands. Looking back, I should have bought it. The price was reasonable and I love single shots. Maybe one day I'll find another.
