Anyone have one of these? I'm looking to get a new rifle, and this has caught my eye as I don't yet have a rifle in .17hmr, and I love lever guns. Just looking for some opinions on it as far as accuracy, reliability etc.

I have the Henry golden boy .17hmr and it's very accurate with the open sights. I haven't had a problem with it but I've only had it for a couple months.

I borrowed a friends Henry .17 a couple years ago for a gopher shoot. First experience with a Henry lever and the .17 and I must say I was impressed with both the rifle and calibre. The action was light and silky smooth and the rounds fed great from the 10+ round tube. This rifle had a scope mounted which was nice for 100+ yd gopher shots and a jack rabbit at 75yds. If I lived somewhere that I had a use for a .17 I would seriously consider the Henry

The Varmint Express has a round barrel and I prefer the heavier octagon barrel of the Frontier and Golden Boy... I prefer the stock configuration of the Frontier and have done brass conversions on both of mine (LR and HMR). Some don't like the weight of the octagon models, but I find it helps a lot with offhand shooting... I don't mind carrying the weight because they carry so well... Regardless of which model you choose, all Henry actions are "buttery" smooth.
