Just be aware that mounting a scope can be a pain on these. On mine I can't get the scope I have anywhere near far enough back to have decent eye relief. I will need to get extension rings, and even then I'm not sure it'll be enough. I might need to find an older scope with a longer tube.
 
Egw makes picatinny rails for them, worked better for me than the one piece weaver mount with a modern scope

Thanks that could be the ticket I need. I don't see them on Amazon right now but I do see a bunch of sponsors have 'em in stock.

Did you have to remove your rear sight? I see a thread on 24hourcampfire claiming that you have to take the rear sight off, which I didn't have to do with the crappy weaver rail I have...
 
I hacksawed the front of the rail off

Do you have the weaver handi rifle base with the two positions for mounting? I had issues with that on handi rifles with shorter scopes
 
Yupp thats what I have, a Weaver #82 rail I think it is. The scope is as far back as it can go with that rail, the front bell of the scope is basically against the front ring.
