Henry

very easy and quick to use. HOW SO? From reading and looking at how a tube magazine works the follower and spring would be a PAIN in the but to put back in unless the bullets go in an inner tube first then you drop that in the gun.

Anyone here that has a Lever action .22 and is will to describe in detail how you load a lever action .22 please do so as I'm completely baffled how it could be quick and easy.

And Mr. Friendly leave me and my .22 alone

Well you twist and pull out the mag tube,Then you take a hand full of 22LR and start dropping them down the tube rim first, till I see a round where your suppose to load it ( rimfire shaped slot ) and then drop the tube down and twist to lock it. It takes 10 seconds to really load it.

Its no slower then trying to reload a rimfire mag. Dropping them down the tube, then trying to put it in the slot meant for it is much faster.

why else would someone want extra magazines??? though I found this cool reloading device. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0012788222343a&type=product&cm_mmc=CRR-_-RLP-_-222343-_-productname_link&cmCat=CRR&cmCat=netcon&cm_ven=netcon&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=tubular%20rifle%20magazine%20extras&cm_ite=netcon
anyone here think it would be worth the money on getting one.

is it possible to get longer barrels for the henry's or brownings. I want a nice 24 inch barrel but the cost rifles that come with them are pretty steep for someone as poor as me.

That device just drops rounds into the outer tube so you don't have to hand put them in. Same idea as a BB loader for a BB gun.

If you try to put rounds into the inner brass tube theres nothing holding it in, They just shoot out. ( Inner tube is like I said Its just a smaller DIA brass tube that had a tapered tip to hold the follower and spring in ) so when you drop the rounds using that reloader in the outer tube, When you place that inner tube in it alligns all the rounds in the outer tube ( sorta like a shotgun tube ) and puts spring tension on the rounds.

so the loader is a good thing to have if you want quick reloads an no dropped ammo *ohhh look bullets on the ground but none in the gun* OK I know understand what the inner tube is. You drop ammo down the fixed tube rim first till full then the inner tube goes down over said ammo and then you twist it on then your ready to shoot *sorry for being such a NOOB but I am a NOOB*
but I still need to know if you can get after market barrels that are longer for Henry Rifles or for browning. *I know this threads for Henry's*

I know the longest henry .22 has a 20 inch barrel I'm looking for an after market barrel thats 22 or 24 inches. I'm not a computer geek or very savvy when it comes to Google I never type the right word combo's most times takes me forever to find most things unless I know exactly where I'm going.

Getting back to the quality comparison, the Henry has plastic barrel bands, front sight, the receiver is pot metal that has been painted. The Henry wood is nice and well fitted, and the action quite slick. The Marlin is made of all steel and wood(no short cuts), it's more expensive, the better quality gun but, is it worth that much more to you? Not to mention the trouble trying to find them new!

You don't want too long of a barrel on a .22 LR. Your powder is consumed over a certain length. Any longer of a barrel and your powder will be used up before your bullet leaves the barrel, and parasetic drag will be your result.

Reload? 19 shots in the field. If that's not enough for hunting I don't know what is. I can drop 19 rounds down the tube faster than I can load 10 rds into a detachable magazine for a bolt gun. Just don't be putting your hand over the muzzle with a rd in the chamber and the hammer cocked back.

Mountains are being made of molehills here. The tube magazine was good enough for Annie Oakley and its darned good enough for me!

There is simply no comparison between the pot metal Henry and the all steel 39A. It ain't the longest production rifle in current production for nothing! Henry makes decent guns for a good price. They aren't bad guns but the Marlin is a very nice gun built to last for a lot longer. The 39A is also a takedown gun. With a loonie, I can split the gun into two and fit it inside a backpack.

If you want .17HMR or .22WMR, then the decision is easy - Henry. The magnum chambering guns don't have the plastic bits BTW.
