Here Piggy Piggy Piggy

Can you share with us why you went with .308 for this purpose?

I had a 16.5" Ruger Scout in 308 which I sold to fund this build. Main reason for sticking with 308 was availability of ammo which I have lots of but if I was in a pinch, it's easy to find at stores or at hunt camp if need be.

Them dang pigs better RUN! Beautiful rifle!

Rambaj asked, "Why a .308 for pigs?" OP answered, but I use a .308 on pigs in my neck of the woods because they live in the same habitat as black bears, and I want to be able to dispatch either critter in a pinch, without too much argument.

I know what it is. it will direct the blast and noise forward.I believe, he decided for it for a reason. I have a savage Hog Hunter in 308w, and i'm looking for a good muzzle brake or compensator for my rifle.

The KX5 is not a flamethrower, its a forward blast muzzle brake. I wasn't too keen on having a side port brake with a 12.5" barrel.

It be a blast director, which if ye play with using longer tube lengths can make for some funky sounds from yer rifle. Walther made .22 target rifles with 14" barrels fitted with "bloop tubes" of the same length fer a 28" overall barrel assembly. They shoot great, and do make a bloop sound that is pleasant to the ears.

Finished up my SBR Pork Sword build. Specs are as follows,

Fresh build so no range reports to report

Got a chance to run a few thru it with some handloads I had sitting around from a previous rifle. More than gooder for what I'll want to use this for. I could probably play with the load a bit, but don't think there is a need to. Pretty happy with it and plenty fun to shoot and the recoil feels like a lightweight Tikka in the same cal.
