In Alberta we cannot use electronic calls to hunt. after reading an article on the foxpro a idea came to mind.

Sometimes people use elk calls to bring in coyotes and other varmints. You are supposed to use a rabbit in distress cal etc.... Have you ever blown up a balloon, then pinched the end to make a high pitched noise? It sounds kinda like a rabbit in distress. I wonder if it would work?

Also, I keep laughing when my neice cries. I keep saying you'll call in a coyote sounding like that... Now, if you were to record a infant crying, and play it back out in the woods, do you think you could fool a coyote with it? Sometimes you need to give them something they have never heard before. Although it is unorthodox, I would be laughing if it worked...

I can call in coyotes by mouth. Simply pinching my nose and giving the same high pitched wail as an infant bawling. Its deadly on doe mulies too for some reason. I've had them charge from 300 yards to 20 yards with just a few mouth wails. Stick to my set of Sceery's for the most part though.

PB, The only way of knowing, is trying... Honestly...
Some of the things I've used in the past would shake your head, but some have worked, and some have not.
An infant crying replicates something that is primal to any predator.
Distress... Distress equals meal in most cases, and if you read most of the packages on most of the squealers, they advise you to try to replicate a baby crying... You never know until you try

I don't know how your regulation is worded but it seems that whatever you have recorded you would still be using an electronic call to hunt.

I have no doubt a crying baby can attract predators. I had a call from a friend four years ago asking advice on dangerous wildlife.....
It seems his wife phoned him at work in an absolute panic, their 1 1/2 year old was crying in his crib and when mom went to pick him up she looked out of the room's window to see three cougars (family) outside looking in at the baby. That was a crazy year for cats here.

Cheers
