Here's something for the Surete.

The deer, cats, dogs etc, wander around many ranges, during shooting events, whether for practise or competition. They are sometimes a nuisance, when you chase them out and they follow you back in.

Yes, the Swiss assume that you can (everyone can) hit a 4'x4' target with iron sights at 300m, and that you are actually trying to do so. I've seen some shooters here that really require the training wheels that the police put on ranges, either through a lack of ability, or a total lack of common sense. I'm willing to bet no one on that range gets muzzle swept either.

Now THAT'S something I'd love to duplicate here in Canada.

Maybe if I win the Lotto Max......:D

I wish our governments had the same attitude toward firearms that the Swiss do.:(

That's all nice and dandy... as long as you are dealing with "shooters"... I.E. People who can shoot and keep their rounds on target!

In MTL, this setup wouldn't last a weekend... and god forbid our local PD used it, there wouldn't be any live animals within range!

I lived in Switzerland for 10 years. The Swiss have a different mentality than we do here in North America (way less idiots per square km). The vast majority of those shooters also see military service and training. I highly doubt they shoot over that berm and hit cows. Another big factor is their country is not run by fear mongering retards out to safeguard society from getting a papercut.

Now thats is a great idea! I wonder how good of a range you could build for $50 million ? :D

I would imagine if you hit an animal in the background, you would be the laughing stock (pardon the pun) of the range.

$20,000 just for the electronic targets, per lane.

Targets system knows when to expect a shot at the target from the sensor at the shooting position. .
A non arrival is a zero. crossfires are zero.
Easy to find out who shot and is paying the farmer for a wounded or dead cow.
No excuses.

Brünig has an INDOOR 300m range.

easy its 7000$ a cow. every member has to a sign an afidavit saying they will pay if they injure or kill a cow. very easy to keep the f**ker out of this range
