Just looked at an add here on some single action .22 revolvers from Heritage arms. They look like a pretty decent piece and the price is very reasonable.

Has anyone here purchased or used these. What's the quality, workmanship, accuracy etc... like on these guns. I'm thinking of a fun plinker that I can run a few thousand rounds through.

Thanks for any and all information

I bought one from Kodiak should be here next week. $250 for a fun plinker that you can shoot 22CB (quiet), 22LR, 22 mag........not a serious defensive "stake your life on" kinda gun but that is why we have other guns in our stable ;)

I will take her out for a spin and report back.

So did you get the chance to shoot it? I am planning to order one so I am curious as to opinions from cgn'ers who actually own/shot one. Kodiakoutpost only has the silver finish one in stock but in fact it is the one I like best.

will do! Thanks!

Now I notice Lebaron jacked up their prices on certain ammo calibers. Only the rimfire remains cheap and true....I am really really seriously considering a rimfire revolver and the Heritage models look great and cost of them looks even better. Plus the cheap ammo!! I will receive a handsome bonus at work end of this month so this will be my reward for the hard work in 2008. New gun and I deserve one! I keep telling myself this every time I order a new gun....which is pretty frequent.

I shot a few CBs out of my Single-six with 6.5" barrel thinking they'd be quiet too, They are at least as loud as a High-velocity .22 out of a rifle. And that .22 magnum makes your ears ring for days if you ever make the mistake of pulling the trigger without your muffs on.

I really like the HUGE ball of flame out of the end of the barrel when you fire off .22mags!!!!!

I bought on of the Heritage .22/.22 mags a few weeks back i did a little review on it I'll see if I can find the link.

Here ya go... its a little bit down the page, lots of pics and a range report a few posts later

Yea, I check out your post reviewing the Heritage 22. Too bad it doesn't shoot straight. I wonder about the one with adjustable sights. I read some reviews that the one with adjustable sights are pretty accurate. The only issue is the pot-metal the gun is made of that wears quickly. Within months of shooting people experience cylinder misalignment problem which then leads to out-of-time issues. Parts are made of soft, stamped metal which means it won't last. Perhaps Ruger single six is a nice option and worth the extra couple of hundreds of dollars. I will take a drive to Shooters Choice in Waterloo, Bantario and have a look there. The list single sixes @ $500.
Does anyone experience wear issues with their Heritage 22 rough rider? The silver one with adjustable sights does look appealing....and the price is appealing too.
