Heritage Roughrider is wildly inaccurate!

Hi guys just wondering if anybody would have some ideas. I opened up the rear sight a bit so ensure that I am getting a consistent sight picture. These are very inexpensive guns, but I literally can hit nothing with it offhand, and off a rest at 10' and closer it is all over the paper. The reviews tend to be quite positive for these pistols, so I was surprised at the inaccuracy. No obvious damage to the crown or bore. I bought this off the EE a couple years ago, got frustrated with it and just parked it. It really doesn't pay to send it anywhere to be fixed because a guy would quickly spend more than it is worth. Any ideas? Any buyers? Lol

Thx

Check that the timing is o.k. I've had one sent back to IRUNGUNS for warranty since October 2019 that came messed up and unshootable right out of the box.

Make sure there isn't any ammo anywhere near you and it's unloaded. Shine a light on the firing pin area and look down the barrel for each chamber after the hammer is pulled. Observe each chamber is aligned with the bore and there isn't any one side obscuring the view.

my buddy had 1
it was junk. Its was badly out of time. at 20 yards the bullet was hitting the target "side ways"
after 6 shots there was so much shaved lead in the barrel, that you didnt Dare shoot another round.

He bought it because the reviews "were good". Not sure what he did with it. I had never seen one that bad before.

I just gave it a teardown and a thorough cleaning, which I should have done before posting here...🙄 Lots of lead. It does appear as though the timing is off slightly, but the bigger problem was one damaged chamber mouth that had been peened with something and was obviously shaving the bullet before it even made it to the forcing cone. Hopefully that will put things in better shape.
