Hey im a newbie here trying to figure this sight out. but i have a question.
I just purchased a tc venture in 204 ruger firing hornady varmint express took it out to the range tonight. Accurate as hell,
but another member noticed that the casing had a band on the bottom after fired looked like a belted case. they expanded according to his gauge 10,000 of an inch they also did this length ways as well. Is this normal for this caliber or did i get an oversized chamber? Help please!! Is this gun safe to fire or am i gonna have to send it back and wait forever to get it back

thanks,

steve

Do you mean that the case has a bulge in it at the base? How wide is it (as in how far up the case does this bulge exist)

1/10,000" is virtually impossible to measure with a hand tool and it is insignificant.

Cases do expand and conform to the dimensions of the chamber. It is normal, but if you have a visible bulge at the base, something is VERY wrong - do not use the gun.

Can you post a photo?

Guages don't measure anything. In any case, .0001 is less than the thickness of a sheet of photocopy paper. Nothing to worry about.

I think the OP just made a mistake and meant 10 thousands of an inch, 0.010" which would be significant and easily seen by the naked eye... he is probably not familiar with mesurements in thou thats all.
