Hey,Can any of you 3d printer guys print some better handguards for the Type 81,Ones that actually look like AKM guards and red/brown bakelite colour?I would also love to see a handgrip in red/brown bakelite as well?Just curious if this could be done?Dave

It can be done. Only problem is its proximity to the barrel.

Colour matching will be a ##### as well.

Print time for a one off you are probably looking for a 200-300 dollar piece after all the wasted fillament and prototyping is done.

Currently the project list is

1) secret
2) secret
3) wood dong
4) maybe this one

The two secret items are probably just dongs too.

We are working on a full MLOK handguard for Type81 that will be available shortly. PM me for any questions i will be happy to help. First release will be for Type81M Underfolder since this is the gun i own, then will make the same design for the T81SE etc. The idea is to make the ultimate MLOK handguard capable of attaching any modern accessories, lights, grips, optics etc.
Here is the teaser pic for now :)

I'd recommend that whatever the design, that top guard has to come off easily for cleaning purposes.
The biggest failing of the TI hand guard is that it screws together.

Absolutely, top is being held by 6 screws that come out very easy but the bottom part stays in place

If youre gonna spend anything north of 200 bucks just get a dong from greasygus. This 3d printed #### is hit or miss and i guarantee it wont hold up in negative temperatures like real wood will. Feel free to google zukov stock issues negative temperatures

I think beltfed was implying that screws are a feature of parts he wishes to avoid, I would second that statement.
Nobody has time for Allen keys in the bush, thread locker or lost screws.
