Can we buy 30rnd AR mags for the high cap look, or are we subjected to the smaller ones?

Like Danimal stated. It's just a matter of buying the desired mag (10,20 or 30rd) and using JB weld or some other form of strong adhesive and gluing it to the bottom of the factory 10/22 ruger mag.

I did the same thing to mine, but used a stubby 10rd 5.56 mag made by Magpul

I guess what I was really asking is are we allowed to buy/own a high capacity, 30rnd magazine with out 5-round centerfire restrictions. Even if it is for "dummy" purposes?

Rip out its Spring and follower and render it unserviceable and I don't see it being a problem. I know this is what "ronkytonk" did to his 30rd AR mag when he did the same thing for his SR.

But I could be wrong ...

Gotcha. I was under the impression that we couldn't even buy the magazine without Prohibited privileges in order to even render it unserviceable in the first place.

You can buy the mags no problem. They will be pinned to 5 rounds is all.
