I have no experience with traditional AR's at all. I do own a tavor that i feed pretty regularly and i love it but that's a different beast. Not really interested in building one until I am sure it's for me. Looking for recommendations under 3k annnnnnd go!

recommendations under 3k: kac one shot tactical
1500 to 2k: dd wolverine
1200: colt 6920 irunguns

i have a colt, modded it up a bit, currently saving for a kac lpr
 
Under 3k?

Brand name and unmatched quality: Most models Knight's Armament, LMT, Noveske ($2400-$4000+)
Top-notch and widely used/respected: Daniel Defence ($1200-$2200)
"Cause it's a Colt": Colt USA/Colt Canada(Diemaco) ($1300-$2400)

My choice would be a DD and a really nice optic. For a custom hand built Canadian option there's Alberta Tactical Rifle
 
PWS, pick your barrel lengh and enjoy a smooth shooting accurate and super reliable AR. I own 2 of them and love them. My 9.75 inch 300 Blackout upper is up for sale but I'm only selling it because I want to upgrade the turbo in my car and need cash. I'm going to miss it if someone buys it.

Can't go wrong with PWS, extremely well built and very accurate for a piston operated rifle. My 12 inch 223 can shoot sub moa with quality ammo.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO stay away from this utter piece of complete crap! frigging nightmarish useless pigeon excrement piece of whale poop ever manufactured!!!

I bought one and i regretted buying it every single minute of my life until Wanstalls reimbursed me completely.

After that disaster I bought a colt!

I wish people on here would have told me what I just told you right now.

Out of curiosity, what were the issues?
 
OP, what are you wanting to DO with this AR?

Do you want to shoot Service Rifle, CQB, 3-Gun, plink at the range, what?

Do you want a direct impingement gun, or a piston-driven AR?

Tell us that, and you'll get much more specific advice.
