If you want access to the equipment exchange (EE), please see this note from the FAQ's;
To apply for permission to access the Equuipment Exchange ( EE ), Off Topics ( OT), Youth Wing, or any of the other limited access areas, you will need to apply.
Along the top of the screen is:
User CP Forums Gallery FAQ Members List, etc, etc
click on User CP (stands for Control Panel), then at the bottom of the drop down list is:
Miscellaneous
Event Reminders
Group Memberships
Buddy / Ignore Lists
Attachments
click on Group Memberships, and apply there. I do not have the power to give you access right here.
(I just got two separate PMs asking how to do so, so thats a good indication that the Newbie section needs updating!)
EDIT. It may take a few days for someone to do the approval. Please be patient, keep in mind that the Moderators are all volunteers, so we have a real job that must come first. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

you could visit your local gun shop and get a feel for the 12 G's they have on the shelf, what fits and feels good in your hands, pump or semi actions. They probably would have a good selection this time of year. Then visit the CGN exchange forum for 12 g's for sale...happy hunting

If by "search for a shotgun" you mean learn about what's available and suits your needs, then the "Shotguns" forum is where you want to spend your time. On the other hand, if you're looking for shotguns that are for sale, that would be the "Equipment Exchange", for which access must be pre-arranged in the manner already described.
This is a great site, but the Equipment Exchange might not be your best bet if you want to buy a shotgun. In order to avoid being taken advantage of, you really need to know what you're buying, and what the value of it is. It's kind of like an on-line flea market, where if you don't know your stuff, you're going to get fleeced.
