Hello everyone. I'm not only new to the forum but shooting as well. My wife took me to a local indoor shooting range for our 17th wedding anniversary last weekend where they allow you to rent guns for the price of the bullets and a $30 drop in fee. We chose to shoot 50 rounds each through a 9mm and a .38 and I'm hooked ! Before the end of the month I will be acquiring my RPAL and purchasing a membership at the above mentioned range. My wife really enjoyed it too but for right now she's going to "see how it goes". Anyway, I might as well warn you all now I'm very excited about my new hobby so be prepared for a barrage of questions, etc,. w:h:w:h:w:h:

Welcome! I am guessing you went to DVC? Thats how I got into shooting after I went with my uncle for the first time then found out about DVC. I took my course there also.

Yeah that's the place. Great bunch of guys there, they squeezed us in even though there was 2 ten person stags going on and still the guy "showing us the ropes" didn't rush us, answered questions, gave tips, etc,. I plan on taking my course there as well probably the one on Oct 23/24 and buying a membership around the same time (before the sale ends). Anyway, thanks for the welcome and see you around the forum.

Welcome - glad you found the hobby! Just be wary - the Equipment Exchange is deadly on your wallet! It'll be easier to deal with if your wife gets in on the hobby too, because then you'll both be sharing the guns, instead of you buying something that only half the family will use!

Welcome!

If you haven't taken the course yet, there is a guy in Cloverdale where you are that does the course for a good price. I think his website is http://www.firearmsafetytrainingcourse.com

I took my PAL there, and challenged my CORE there as well

Happy Shooting!

Thanks but already signed up for PAL/RPAL course at DVC in Poco on the Oct 23/24 for $225. I'm sure your guy is fine but when comparing his course to DVC's his is $25 more and the course is 13 hrs (total) rather than DVC'S which is 16 hrs.
