Hey everyone

I just found this site through huntingbc and I think this might be just the place I've been looking for :).

I used to shoot a lot, did a little bit of hunting but never seriously, mostly just shot up lots of threatening milk jugs and stuff. Then I met (and married) a girl who hated guns so I sold all of them (except for my Enfields cause I was emotionally attached). Anyways, after years of nagging..err I mean gentle persuasion, she's weakened and I challenged (if you can call it a challenge) and passed the restricted and non-restricted tests and now I'm just waiting for my PAL. I'll be getting a membership at either the Chilliwack Rod & Gun or the Agassiz one, not sure yet which one.

So for now I'm just window shopping but on my list, in order, I plan to get:

12 Ga, either a Remington Tactical or a Wingmaster with 26" & 18" barrel so it'll be a bit more practical

9mm auto of some variety

Ruger 10/22

.22 auto, I kinda liked the looks of the High Standard AutoMagII but I don't know a lot about it

ar-15 of some variety, just cause I always wanted one

new hunting rifle, probably something in 7mm mag, but that's last cause I still like my .303

so that's about it, sorry to go on but I'm a little excited :D

Welcome aboard! :D
If you think that was rambling.... :p
My only advice is if you're going to limit yourself one .22, make sure you try a Remington 597 alongside the 10/22 before you make up your mind. ;)

Davy...Welcome aboard you have a pretty good shop in the 'wack' for all your hobby needs ' dart and tackle'

PS...I have owned both the 10/22 and the 597...If aftermarket add ons is what you crave I would stick with the 10/22 for the plethora of 'magazine' options alone !!!!!

talk to Brad at C.D&T if you want to talk gun stuff.
where in the Wack are you? I'm up on Promontory.

Chilliwack?? I have been there many times, but never left the airport!! Best Pie in all of B.C!

I'll have to dig up my "I Fly For Pie, Chilliwack, B.C" t-shirt.. I know it's around here somewhere.

How was the corn this year? :)

Mike_R
I really miss B.C... :(

Hi Mike

Yeah the corn was great, and the pie is still the best (although I prefer the cheesecake :) , had some the other day actually )

Why'd you leave Mike?

ps: if you need reminding, the weather still sucks

Yes, the weather was a factor, but it was more that my family and friends were all back in Ontario, and after a year of living on the lower mainland, I was ready to go home.

I had fully intended on going back, but I moved to North Bay for last winter, and found much of what I loved about BC in the north, so that is where I am headed next. Now I am stuck in London while my wife attends law school, then we are heading north!

I sure miss the Chiliwack airport, and yes the cheese cake is great, but I always went for a midpie!

Say Hi to the mountains for me.. I sure miss them!
