So my hubby and I just passed our CORE, PAL and restricted course.

We are interested in hunting Elk specifically, and target shooting.

I became interested in hunting after I tasted my first Elk steak, then I was hooked!

Came onto this site to learn more, and possibly purchase used firearms.

When our licenses come in we will be looking for a 30-06 Rifle, 12G shotgun (defender style), and in the future a 9mm handgun.

Wow, another BC'r, welcome:wave: you must be coming in from all the snow, we even got some on the Island, there is, a wealth of info and a lot of good people on this site. Eventually when I get a hunting rifle, Matsqui range is probably where I

will go to site in the gun. (is that the same as the abby range?) :confused:

We will have to wait until the PAL comes in the mail. :shotgun:

I will be looking for a good used rifle (30-06) and shotgun(12g) in the near future.

Gotta have a 30.06, definately need a few 12 guages, and there's many many nice 9mms to be had ;) Lots of nice guns in the EE
 
Geez Im feelin left out all the way over here in Bancouver. Welcome aboard and start saving. This site can crush a cast iron piggy bank. Look out for deals though. Damn things are everywhere. Im shooting at Mission. Come check us out sometime.

Welcome aboard i,m also from Abby and shoot at the Abby fish and game club:sniper: 9mm and my hunting guns drop by its a nice club.

I think we will def. be checking out Abby.

Alot of people we have talked to recommend the range.

We have to be part of a range to buy a handgun anyways.......:redface:
 
Do you know about huntshoot.com and huntingbc.ca?

Those are the hunting sites to check out when you're ready to go hunting.

You will be learning soon that much elk hunting in B.C. is under the Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) system, though there are some general open season areas too, but that is mostly for 6-point or better only, and way North or in the Kootenays.

Try some deer meat too. The seasons are way more liberal and there are more opportunities to hunt deer than elk.
 
I have heard of huntingbc ....... Not a member yet.

I was planning on the Kootneys or maybe up north for the elk.

Deer meat was ok. It was decent for ground meat.....

We may get one for the ground meat......:)

Need to start thinking about a large freezer :D
