hi there,
my name is matt and i just came across this forum from google. glad there's a community out there that's canadian based. :)

i just recently passed my PAL exam and am currently looking for a rifle on the used market. i'm interested in long range competition shooting, and am hoping this forum can help me learn and grow in the sport.

cheers
matt

Welcome aboard Matt.

This forum is an excellent place for information and advice. As long as you ask the right questions you should be well on your way.

thanks for the welcome smacdonald. nice to see another 905'er out there.

2 immediate questions i have:

used rifles: worth persuing? i'm on budget and would like to start out with a decent enough kit, that i wont feel the need to upgrade in a year or so.

clubs near the GTA: any worth checking out that i can go for a day as a guest and just chat with some shooters in person?

thanks

Welcome Matt,

You might want to check out this thread for posts about long range shooting;

The Long Range/Precision Competition Shooting forum here is also pretty informative to browse through.

You may to also want to look into the ORA, and DCRA which organize long range shooting competitions.

I don't think you would have a problem visiting ranges and chatting with people. You can most likely swing an invite from a member here if you bring the coffee!

Good luck on your search, and glad to have another Ontarian on the board.

Steve
