Hey all,

New to the sport of shooting, I am not a hunter just a shooter. I just got my PAL last summer and am enjoying it very much. I bought my fist guns just this past fall. The first gun I bought was an SKS fitted with a tapco stock and 5/ 20 rd Magazine ...nothing spectacular but is very easy to disassemble and clean and it also looks pretty badass, it's all black. the second gun I bought was a remington 22lr semi auto...cheap plinker with a decent scope, lots of cheap fun at the range. So ...so far so good, I expect to buy many more guns in the future and i am excited for the Saskatoon gun show in March, which will also be my first one. Cheers everybody, and be safe out there!!

Welcome to the site. You will learn many things while here... among them is the fact that center fire semi auto rifles( like an SKS) are limited to 5 round mags.
I'm not trying to be an @$$, just would hate to see a new shooter and CGN member hassled because a cop read that he had a 20 round mag fitted on his SKS when he meant he had a LEGAL 5/20 round mag fitted.

I know about the 5 rounds in any centerfire gun... I bought a tapco mag which was "blocked" to 5, it was not rivited like most other SKS aftermarket MAg. There is no way of taking out the "pin" unless you drill a hole through the plate that prvents you from taking apart the mag. When you take apart the mag you can take that pin out....there is no law preventing me from cleaning and ultimately drilling a hole into the mag so I can take it apart and clean it.... right??
 
I always keep it "pinned" when I go out shooting...But am also able to take it apart to clean it if I want......
 
It's all good Paul! Just letting you know that there are all kinds of EYES looking at these posts all the time. To be forwarned is to be forarmed, and we brothers and sisters of the gun need to look after each other!
 
Ya man...agreed...LOL..SO just to let all those eyes know..It IS a 5/20 Mag...Thanks again..the last thing I need, as a new shooter, is a badge knocking on my door....
