Hi folks.

Just wanted to take a moment and get my name out there. I am new to the site...as well as new to firearms in general. I am looking for some tips and info on just about anything. So I ask, please put up with me as I am only learning.

Look forward to hearing from some of you on what you consider to be a decent overall utility gun as well as the biggest bang for you buck firearm out there? I currently own a HK-SL8 and a Ruger Mini-14, both in .223. I am now moving into the direction of shotguns as well as more rifles. I am not a avid hunter but do enjoy going to the range and shooting.

Well, thats about all for now...

Thanks

Thor; welcome to the site....I'm not to familiar with "tactical" guns and acc., more into sporting guns and oldtimers incl. black powder. I'm sure there are lots of folks on this site with interests similar to yours but if you need any help or info from me or anyone else, just ask.

Tell me about it....I have only 2 but am constantly looking on line at TSE, EPP's and Wolverine for new and unique items...I only hope my wife can understand, she has yet to endorse this new hobby of mine.

Thanks for the response Mastoid, take er' easy

Hey "Thor", just bought my Ithaca 37... the CFC didn't let me take it home. Having trouble with the 4 digit serial number it seems. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow... have found a couple forums (stateside) that will likely give me a hand verifying that it is what I was told it was. Hopefully the seller knew what he was talking about. Either way the shotgun is nice, and we'll take it out.

Have you thought anymore about the Browning BPS High Capacity? I think it's pretty good... like the action better than any other pump I've tried. Its a much cheaper alternative to the Fabarm as well...

"...has yet to endorse..." Hi. Try the "It's an investment." gambit. Firearms really are a good investment too. My 1903A4 Springfield sniper rifle cost me $175Cdn about 30 years ago. It's now worth well over 2 grand. My M1 Garand was the same money. Worth nearly a grand now.
Even commercial hunting firearms tend to keep their value over time.
Mind you, it's usually better just to take her shooting. Doesn't hurt to point out that women are inherently better shots than men are too.

Thanks Sunray,

If I am unable to reposnd in the future you will all know she did not fall for it.
Lets hope...

I think a very (un)wise man (boy) once told me that what she doesn't know...

Get a guncabinet and stock it (keep the key hidden) using the comic book money, and voila. She is none the wiser.

Now get back to work...
