I'm curious and semi interested in this firearm. But in doing a couple searches on the forums, I'm unable to find anything about it (either good or bad).

If I were to get it, it'd be in either 9mm or 40cal, as I don't currently shoot .45 and would like to shoot the same ammo.

Has anyone heard anything about this? I know Hi Point makes very cheap (or cost effective) firearms, but does that mean it's complete crap?

9mm, $380: 16-1/2" BBL, BLUED FINISH, POLYMER STOCK WITH RECOIL BUFFER, PICATINNY RAILS (3), ADJ APETURE SIGHTS WITH PROTECTIVE WINGS, DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, SLING SWIVELS & SLING

.40, $400: 17-1/2" [the rest the same as the 9mm]

I have the 995ts and works great. The mags are only 5 rounds but the 40 cal are 10 rounds. This forum has some good thing to say http://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/forum/

Seen this in a few mags lately. Seems like a good HD or shtf option, sort of like the Sub 2000 or JR Carbine.

Who here in Canada would carry this?

Epps has quite a few in stock. Do note that they are restricted due to barrel length, and it cannot be rebarreled since the barrel is integral to the receiver.

I was just out shooting the 9mm. If you dont mind that its restricted its a neat rifle to own (if you dont mind the look!) and the price is hard to beat.

I wish the sub-2000 was cheaper here in canada, my 10 rd sig mags would have a second home

I was strongly considering one in 9mm... But with the 5 round mag, being a restricted firearm, and being way more complicated to field strip, I decided to spend the extra $200 and get the Sub 2000.

In the U.S., I think this gun is a fantastic deal and I would purchase one in a second. Here in Canada, with so many Canada-specific restrictions, I am a lot less excited about it.
