I know that people say these carbines suck and are ugly, etc.
I'm looking for honest opinions from people that have owned/fired them in 9/40/45.
There are many reviews/videos that say the carbines are reliable and accurate.
Epps has tons of the carbines and pistols in stock, and I am thinking about taking a chance on the carbine in .45ACP.

I would also be interested to see if anyone on CGN has owned one of these carbines. For the price they seem like a good investment. I mean that is if you can get past how gorgeous they are.... From what I can see they are very popular in the US.

her ya go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouqWxI9oLG8 I have the 9mm it works great The 9mm are limited to mag capacity the 40 is a pistol mag you can get pistol mags that hold 10 and 45 and hold 10 . Yea they are ugly Do you finger it because it's ugly. The dis advantage is that it is restricted. Years ago they would not let them in the country because our Goverment said they where prohip. Check out this forum http://www.hipointfirearmsforums.com/ These guys talk out o there ass. Ask them if they own one

I have a 9mm and a 40. I have used both in CQB and found they handle well, are quite accurate. The only thing I did to them was polish the trigger parts.

I have a Hi Point 995ts in 9mm. Switched out for the ATI stock, added a muzzle shroud and a red dot. Goes bang everytime and groups as well as I expected. Trigger is a little rough as stated above but not a huge issue after some polishing. Wish I could find cheaper mags for it and the downside to the 9mm version is the lack of 10rd. mags available.

I had one in 40 S&W. It was accurate out of the box with the factory sights. It was a fun shooter and I was able to hit gongs out to 200 meters. It was definitely a fun range plinker. I never had one issue with it whatsoever. I regret selling it, and I'm considering buying another. I would recommend getting it in 9mm or 40 S&W only because ammo is cheaper than .45!

You are wright. It dosen't take long to blast through a box of pistol ammo in a carbine, When you bring a pistol and a carbine to the range you open your wallet. God I love this sport. LOL

I have the 4095TS and I love it.
Never had a failure and is very accurate for a .40, not to mention it is cheap!
I don't remember exactly the numbers, but I got around 180fps more with the same ammo I reload for my pistol.

Now this is what I was looking for. Thank you everyone for contributing your opinions!!
I was looking to get the 4595ts because I've already got about 1200 rnds of .45 from when I bought my norinco 1911 deal (thanks CanAm!!).
I've seen some videos where you can mod a 1911 mag easily to work with the 4595ts. Something to consider because the mags are pretty cheap (tho only 7 rnds I believe).

I had a carbine in 45 but I sold it, I found it way too inaccurate. I was generally getting groups in the 4-5" range at 25 yards firing from a rest. The same RDS and rest with a JR carbine produces a cloverleaf group at that range. I know it's a restricted range only toy but I found the accuracy unacceptable. Went bang every time I pulled the mushy trigger though, so if you wanna make some noise cheaply it's a winner..

Interesting that there would be such a difference with the same rds and rest. thanks for the post!

So i handled the 4595ts and .45jhp pistol last thursday. they both felt really great, even though they were both heavy. i opted for the pistol for now, cause i bought some other stuff too, and didn't want to blow my whole wad that day. i loved the rifle tho, so i'll be ordering that soon!!! AGE tells me that hi-point is cool to deal, with and they ship to canada so i'll be ordering some accessories from them for the 4595ts at some point (dual mag holder/compensator). i'm thinking of using the RDS from my mossberg .22 (with removal of the front/rear sights) and a decent vertical foregrip.

the staff at Epps are very nice. i dealt with an older guy and he didn't give me any stink-eye, etc about wanting to handle the hi-points. It took less than 24 hours to get my STATT as well so i picked my ugly beauty of a pistol friday afternoon!! honestly the more i fondle my JHP the more i like how it looks.

i also ordered 4 x 10rnd mags from wolverine as well @ $28 each. they should be here this week some time i hope.

Wolverine told me that the magazines are NOT interchangeable between the carbine and the pistol, so I cancelled my order of 4x10rnd mags.

I have a 9mm and a 40 carbine. One of them uses the HiPnt pistol mags. Don't recall which one.

BTW, given a chocie of only one, I would take the 40. The 40 mags have a half inch plastic base that allows the mag to be easily tapped into place. The 9mm fits flush with the pistol grip and is more tricky to lock in if you are inserting a full mag with the bolt closed.

I have the .40 and the pistol mags fit it fine. actually the mag that came with the gun says for pistol use only? fun gun that never fails. you wont regret it.
